Summer

Summer

Summer (aka Jennifer) has spent her life being athletic; (biking, running, weight lifting, and playing tennis). All the physical activity with little stretching put strains on her body leading to a back injury. Every doctor she visited had the same recommendation, DO YOGA. After only a few classes, she was hooked. She found the healing practices of yoga brought balance to her life, physically and spiritually. Summer pursued her passion to share all the benefits of yoga with others by receiving her RYT certification in 2016 and has been teaching ever since. If you like variety, you will love taking a class with Summer.

She Leads lighthearted, intelligent and creatively- sequenced vinyasa classes with thoughtful instruction. She enjoys weaving themes into her classes inspired by quotes, stories, the sun and moon cycles and even county music lyrics. A fellow teacher and friend, once told her, “You have a way of looking at the world with stability, love, and grace. Share your gift.” You can join her in her studio in Silver Spring, Md. September- June. She also teaches at ExtendYoga in North Bethesda, MD (where she received her Yoga Teacher Training) and teaches On The Beach in Ocean City, Md (122nd St) May- October. Summer received her 300 hour certificate from YogaWorks in April 2020. She is now ERYT- 500.

Additional experience; Collegiate Team Yoga, Corporate Yoga, Chair Yoga, Yoga for Seniors, Gentle Yoga, Yin Yoga,  Registered with Yoga Alliance.

Sophia Smith

Sophia Smith

Sophia was lucky enough to discover yoga in High School. Since then, her love of yoga has grown and taken on new forms with different seasons of life. Having struggled with anxiety since childhood, yoga is one of Sophia’s primary tools that helps mitigate this. Sophia discovered that yoga has the ability to grow physical, as well as, mental strength which provided her a boost of self-confidence.

In the hope of helping facilitate this in others, Sophia took her love of yoga to the next level in 2019, completing her 200 hour yoga teacher training. After completing this training, she immediately began teaching. Sophia hopes to bring a sense of fun and lightheartedness to her classes, along with a sense of self-discovery. She also became a fan of Barre as another form of exercise that focuses on loving your body and low impact strength building.

Outside of the studio, Sophia likes spending time with her husband, two kids, and lots of animals!
